Spine Care Medical Group in San Francisco, CA is Recognized With The Prestigious Spinal Research Foundation’s Center of Excellence Award

Reston, VA, March 1, 2009: The Spinal Research Foundation, SRF, announced today that the Spine Care Medical Group in San Francisco, CA is one of fourteen national organizations to receive the 2009 Center of Excellence Award, the foundation’s highest honor for a spinal health care organization. Recipients were selected based upon their contributions and dedication to improving spinal health care through research and education.

"We recognize and congratulate the Spine Care Medical Group in receiving this year’s Center of Excellence Award," said Thomas C. Schuler. M.D., President of the Spinal Research Foundation. "They are recognized for their leadership in spinal health care. They serve as outstanding role models for organizations of all kinds striving to improve spinal research and education."

The Center of Excellence experts will be aligned in a single cohesive network which will enable the Spinal Research Foundation to accumulate vital data. These patient outcomes data, from the best centers in the country, will validate contemporary spinal treatment and determine the optimal way to treat spinal disorders free from commercial or personal bias. The need for this research is evident by the increasing number of Americans impaired by spinal disease as more than 90% of the population will suffer from severe neck and/or low back pain during their lifetime. Identifying solutions through this unbiased network will aid in eliminating this epidemic.

"Receiving such an esteemed award is a true testament to our commitment to spinal health care," said Paul J. Slosar, M.D., President of Spine Care Medical Group. "We continuously strive to provide the best care possible to our patients and in doing so truly embody all that this award represents. Our dedication to researching the optimal ways to prevent, treat and ultimately accelerate a cure for spinal diseases will touch the lives of so many affected by this disorder."
